Home – the hills above Tichindeal in Transylvania are a peaceful and secluded place. Shepherds move through with their flocks, the panorama opens to the village in the north, the forests in the south and behind them the Fogaras Carpathians. The motif shows the path, which leads in old and new turnings into the village and further over the hills. The first photo of this motif that I saw was taken by Lotta Agaton, who accompanied me into the hills in autumn 2017. Thank you Lotta, it was an extraordinary pleasure for me.
What – A frozen reed stalk on Montiola in Thueringen, early in the morning, freshly escaped from the fog, bizarre ice formations are forming and the light plays with them, in the background the Hohe Fraßen with 1.979 m.
Why – a carpet structure in several natural shades in pure new sheep’s wool, developed by me. It was nice to work on carpets myself. Like working with stories now.
Where – of course the Montiola Waterfall in Thuringia. In autumn 17 at the first snow and in the fog. Around that time my signs were already on parting from my old company and thoughts kept wandering ahead, what does the future hold? To the left of the waterfall, in the forest, you can find the remains of the old pressure pipe. Even before electrification, the machines of the textile factory in Thueringen were operated with this water power. History you can understand.
Who – my youngest son Paul, a bundle of energy, in the chilly April wind, 13 years old in Cornwall, England. Still wearing long trousers and shoes on the first day, he soon preferred to explore the sandy beaches of south-east England barefoot.
Blog – Seagulls on a sandy beach in southwest Scotland. The end of a journey with my boys and my younger brother through the Highlands, the coasts and some islands of Scotland. I love the north, thanks Rupert for the insights.
Contact – a high valley behind Salzburg in Transylvania, northwest of Sibiu. Sheep, shepherd dogs, puppies and a great thunderstorm atmosphere with sun. In addition a portrait of me, photographed by Mihai Moiceanu, it shows an improved version of me compared to reality. 🙂
Privacy – the view from the Suenserspitze towards Lake Constance in autumn. In combination with the Suensersee a dream hike in Vorarlberg.
Imprint – Sunrise in the Old Valley in Transylvania. The Fogaras Carpathians are beautiful and reach over 2.500 m with the Moldoveanu as the highest mountain in Romania. Photographed from the hills between Avrig and Cornatel in freezing cold and without coffee in advance.
