For many years I managed a small carpet company in Thueringen, Austria and lived carpets. Leading this company, which my father built up as a minority partner in 1963, into a new era was an exciting and challenging task.
The move to Transylvania, the build-up of a factory and the completion of the relocation of production in 2012, milestones on a path that included new carpet collections, the restart of marketing and PR, the building up of new markets like a great team! In addition there was a story as a guiding idea and vision for the future. Learning how things you do “unconsciously” suddenly fit into this story. But nothing lasts forever.
Much of my old company was based on a story I wrote almost 20 years before as a dream. Long car journeys through Scandinavia like Germany and hikes helped me to think about this story. Many conversations helped me to “write down” the story. Others came about spontaneously and fit harmoniously into the whole picture.
Stories that I was particularly happy about were an external workshop for the recycling of yarn residues in which 14 women worked independently as a team. Or a workshop for 7 Romnija in a small Transylvanian village with which I was able to refute prejudices and show on a small scale that trust is rewarded.
Today I work for Montiola consulting and want to use this framework to develop new stories! Stories with people and products that bring joy!
